Invincible Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Everything You Need to Know

Invincible Season 2 of Invincible appears to be a long way off. When it was released in 2021, Amazon Studios’ R-rated animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker’s comic series was a huge hit on Prime Video. However, while Amazon and co-developer Skybound will want to capitalize on their success, the series’ development is projected to be gradual.
To be honest, we’re content to wait. If the second (and third) seasons of Invincible have the same amount of love, care, and attention to detail as the first – which we loved – we can expect two more fantastic installments in the TV series.
Invincible Seasons 2 and 3 appear to be going all-out to be the best they can be, according to Amazon and Skybound. Skybound has hired a new Head of Animation and based on her extensive body of work, it appears that the Prime Video show will be a major success. You may learn more about this in the sections below.
You’ll learn a lot more than that. We’ve collated everything we know about Invincible season 2, including returning cast members, probable story points, and when it might return to Prime Video. After you’ve caught up on everything, read our ideas on how Invincible season 2 can improve on its predecessor.

Invincible Season 2 Release Date:

Unfortunately, as of February 21, 2022, no information on when the Invincible Season 2 would premiere has been released. Invincible Season 2 will avoid the production delays that plagued the majority of the television industry in 2020 and 2021 because it is animated.
But, with animation, these things take time, and it’s unclear whether Invincible Seasons 2 and 3 will be made at the same time to shorten the gap between releases, or if they’ll be done back to back.
Robert Kirkman live-tweeted the first episode in January to give fans an inside look at how it was developed and then updated followers on where he was in the creation of season two.
“I need to get back to work on Invincible Season 2 and 3 as soon as possible! I’m actually working on a script right now! Good luck to me! “he penned “And thank you for sticking with me! I adore all of you!”
With this in mind, I’m guessing we won’t hear anything until at least 2023.

Invincible Season 2 Cast

The cast of invincible is – and we don’t say this lightly – unbelievably massive, and it’s possible that it’ll only get bigger as the program progresses.
Following the craziness of season one’s finale, we expect to see the majority of the following characters return for Invincible Season 2 :

  • Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson / Invincible
  • Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson
  • JK Simmons as Nolan Grayson / Omni-Man
  • Zachary Quinto as Robot
  • Ross Marquand as Rudy Connors, Robot’s new real body
  • Gillian Jacobs as Samantha Eve Wilkins / Atom Eve
  • Jason Mantzoukas as Rex Sloan / Rex Splode
  • Malese Jow as Kate Cha / Dupli-Kate
  • Grey Griffin as Shrinking Rae
  • Khary Payton as Black Samson
  • Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman
  • Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien
  • Mahershala Ali as Titan
  • Kevin Michael Richardson as The Mauler Twins
  • Andrew Rannells as William Clockwell
  • Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett

Mark Hamill as Art Rosenbaum could potentially return, according to Kirkman: “The recording sessions with @HamillHimself were EPIC, to say the least. Will there be a Season 2 of Bulletproof? All we can do now is wait and see!”
… Tease.
Omni-
After Mark discovered his secret, Man flew to a new galaxy, but Nolan will undoubtedly return in season two. His character is so important to this program that picturing future episodes without him is like picturing his face without that gorgeous mustache. It isn’t possible.
Of course, The Walking Dead has made multiple appearances throughout the series.
Lauren Cohan, Ross Marquand, Sonequa Martin-Green, Khary Payton, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, and Cha Coleman were all reunited with Invincible star Yeun in season one.
But does this imply that there will be more Deadites in Season 2?
“I’m hesitant to mention names because I’d like to welcome everyone eventually,” Kirkman remarked (via ComicBook). “There isn’t a single actor on The Walking Dead with whom I wouldn’t want to work again. It’s a fantastic cast of actors. There’s no one I wouldn’t want to bring in: Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan…”

Invincible Season 2 Trailer:

Sorry, but if Robert Kirkman is still writing, we won’t be seeing any footage or a trailer for quite some time.
Season two video is unlikely to arrive until later in 2022, but in the meanwhile, it wouldn’t hurt to ask Damien Darkblood to investigate Amazon HQ.
At the very least, you’ll have enough comic books to keep you entertained while you wait.

Invincible Season 1 Review:

The first season of Invincible has gotten a lot of great feedback from viewers. There’s a terrific narrative to watch as well.
Nolan reveals himself as an infiltrator for the Viltrum Empire, which was dispatched to invade Earth, near the end of the first season of the series Invincible.

After failing to persuade Mark to join him, Nolan overpowers his son, wreaking havoc on Chicago and slaying tens of thousands.
Nolan discovers his own humanity as well as love for Mark while reminiscing about Mark’s upbringing and tearfully departs from Earth.

Invincible Season 2 plot

The comic series is entertaining, but it can be perplexing at times. Season 2 of Invincible might go in a variety of directions, but we already have an idea of what the second installment will involve. This is based on the season 1 finale and some hints from the official Twitter account for the series.
Let’s start with the season one finale of Invincible. Omni- Man was intended to conquer Earth for the Viltrumite Empire, but when he realizes he won’t be able to murder Mark and enslave humanity for his people, he tearfully flees into space to an unknown destination.
This plotline should be continued in Season 2. Mark will be tasked with protecting Earth from the Viltrumites, as well as assisting the Coalition of Planets in stopping the former from completing their universe-wide expansion. Thanks to Allen the Alien’s warning, Mark already knows that a fleet is on its way, and with Allen taking a more significant position in the comics from now on, we can expect the duo’s friendship to blossom in season 2.

We should also look into the disappearance of Omni-Man/Nolan. In the comics, Nolan flees to another planet in the hopes of receiving retribution from the Viltrum Empire for abandoning his duty on Earth. Mark and Nolan’s relationship is still being explored extensively in the comics, so there’s a lot more for the TV show to portray. We’ll be here for a long time if we go into too much detail about this father-son relationship, so for now, we’ll just say that we hope to see more of Simmons’ Nolan next season.
Season 2 of the show should also see the show venture into intergalactic terrain. Wilder worlds, stranger characters, and a universe-spanning plot are all set to be brought to life on screen.
The closing episode of Season 1 indicated more potential subplots for Season 2. More of the Sequids plot, which hasn’t been formally ended, should be seen. After trading places with one of the human astronauts, we discover that a Martian has penetrated Earth. Furthermore, the Sequids have taken control of the astronaut who was left behind on Mars, which could indicate disaster for Earth if this parasitic race decides to travel to the blue planet.
Titan and Battle Beast’s storylines may also be developed out further. The two had taken over Machine Head’s criminal enterprise and vanished away from Earth the last time we saw them. Their stories continue in the comics, and Kirkman has already hinted that Battle Beast, a fan favourite, may have more screen time in season 2. Despite Omni-rampage Man’s on their home planet in episode 2, the Flaxans appear to be returning.
One noteworthy tidbit concerns plot aspects that were never included in the Invincible comic series. Kirkman explained to Beyond the Trailer that he hopes to integrate storylines in the TV show that he couldn’t fit into the graphic novels in an interview. Damien Darkblood, who was exiled back to Hell by Cecil Stedman in episode 4, is one example Kirkman cites. It’s unknown whether or not this will be included in Season 2.
Finally, Kirkman has provided further details about Season 2’s narrative, which could include perhaps Mark’s biggest comic book foe – Angstrom Levy:
Following that, Kirkman confirmed that Levy will be a part of the season 2 story.
Kirkman said during the Skybound Xpo Invincible virtual event (where he declined to reveal when season 2 would premiere): “He [Levy] causes quite a stir. You’ll get a feel of where we’re heading with the second season if you’re familiar with the comics and have watched the TV program, especially if you think about how we adapted the plot in the first season.”
For TV show fans alone, Kirkman teased that “wild stuff” will be coming, while Jason Mantzoukas expressed his excitement for season 2 to “bring more villains… like Thragg” and more of the comic series’ interplanetary themes.

FAQ

How many seasons will there be in Invincible Season 2?

There are 144 Invincible comics in total, spanning Kirkman and Walker’s careers of 15 years. Season 1 of the TV adaptation had several plot points rearranged, although the first eight episodes only covered the first 23 issues. If future seasons follow a similar pattern, Invincible could be canceled around season 7 or 8.
Kirkman, on the other hand, believes there could be more or less. He told ScreenRant that there is a “rough roadmap for where things from the comics will land” in the film. Kirkman also told Inverse that he “could see it extending on for five… seven… even ten years.” Perhaps we’ll run out of comic books and have to complete 100 seasons.”
Of course, that last number is Kirkman’s enthusiasm for his own show, but Invincible could easily go for at least five seasons. Amazon would be foolish to terminate it after three seasons if the audience wants more. However, a lot will depend on whether Invincible continues to bring in viewers in the next two seasons.

Amazon’s live-action series based on another R-rated comic book, Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s The Boys, was a huge hit, so there’s no reason why Invincible season 2 can’t build on the success of its predecessor and last for many more years.

Invincible Season 2: Renewed or Cancelled?

Yes, Amazon recently renewed the series Invincible for a second and third season in April 2021.
As a result, Invincible Seasons 2 and 3 will be released soon. The series Invincible will be available on Amazon Prime Video in both seasons.
Let’s discuss the cast of Invincible Season 2.
